Advanced Eye Health Screening Options

Electric City Eye Care is proud to offer the most advanced technology as part of your eye exam. Retinal screening photos and iWellness retinal laser scans are a technology that can help detect potentially vision-threatening ocular and systemic diseases in their very early stages. Each has its own advantages and both are recommended to help provide you with the most thorough exam possible. Dr. Reed strongly recommends all patients have both procedures. It is especially important for anyone with a personal or family history of or risk factors for:

• Diabetes

• High blood pressure

• Glaucoma

• Macular degeneration or other eye diseases.

Photographing the back of the eye allows for high resolution viewing of the retina, blood vessels, and optic nerve. Along with the iWellness scan, baseline photos are useful not just today, but to observe for changes at future exams as well.

Like an MRI of the eye, but taking only seconds to perform, the iWellnessExam™ provides high definition cross-sections of your retina and optic nerve which can reveal signs of disease in exquisite detail that are not visible with traditional examination methods.
